In the three and a half years I've occupied this house, I've never had a large gathering of people to constitute calling it a party. However, that is all to change next month I as wave goodbye to my twenties and instead, enter the more confident world of the thirties! (Gulp!) Sticking to my love of all things rainbow, I'm using it as a theme and its going to be fan-freaking-tastic! I'm getting more excited by the day!
In preparation, I've made countless lists and top of the list is a rainbow cake, which by the way, I am going to attempt all by my wee self. It will be my 'bakers Everest!'. The ever wonderful Pinterest has offered up drooling images of all types of rainbow cakes and I'm confident it won't be disaster! Perhaps I should try trial run....just to make sure!
As it's a grown up party, I'm making all the food! Bye bye wedges and cocktails sausages, hello smart and tasty canapes and so long to vodka jelly shots, come on in champagne jelly drinkies! More much sophisticated sweetie, don't you think?
I also have a plan in place to decorate the house. It involves plenty of homemade bunting, perfectly placed photos, a range of colourful balloons and a few more crafty surprises! All will be revealed., but for now, I'l keep on attending to the RSVP's (Close to 30, at the last count!) planning the cocktails and cruising the shops for that perfect dress!
Sounds cool, and congrats to you, hope you have a lovely birthday, you will have to take photographs of your decorations and treats. I too am the big 3O this year.
