An Instagram Life

Instagram, I freaking love you! It's true, I do! I knew about Instagram before I owned my beloved iPhone and wanted that app so bad that it was the first app I downloaded when I got my iPhone up and running. It's simple (and fun!) to use and connects you to a whole world of wannabe photographers from all over the wold and allows you to share beautiful photos with each other.. and this, I adore!

It's similar to other social media platforms in that you sign up, create an account and end up with friends or in this case 'followers'. It's easy to get addicted and is usually the reason behind my high phone bills. Oh dear.

I've also been known to dabble in and experience Instagram envy. That moment when someone, somewhere (for me, its usually someone from a lovely hot country like Australia) casually uploads a picture of their view from their workplace or home and I'm like "Dam, I want a beach right outside my door...not, er....rain!"

However in saying that, there is many an Instagrammer out there who appreciates a fine view of an Irish landscape on a day when the rain is lashing down and this service I'm happy to provide!

Below a few snapshots of my Instagram life lately and if like me, you're an avid Instagrammer, be sure to jump on the luckyrainbow follow wagon.

My day in photographs - 28.01.2012

My day in photographs is a lovely way of sharing your day. The idea being that you take an image every hour from the moment you start your day to the moment you end your day. This is my first time trying it and while I wasn't religious about taking an image every hour, you get the idea of how my day went.

10am
Breakfast! - I love eggs! I think they are the
most perfect food! I also love a hot cup of tea in my I heart tea mug!

11am
To the gym or have a shower? I woke up with a really bad
throat and as a result, decided it would be a gym free day!

12pm
Getting ready for the day! I had planned to meet up with old work colleagues, one of which was treating us to lunch in her house. Also used it as an opportunity to try out my new owl ring!

1pm - 3pm - Lunch!
We were really spoiled with an amazing spread of foods! Check out the pretty bowls,
I love how they don't match! Creating your own style is best!

3pm
Dessert! The first dessert I've had in weeks due to my fitness regime! Ger made her own lemon curd which tasted devine, tasty almond macroons, mini meringues and even lovelier fudge brownies!
They were to die for!

4pm - 5pm
My friend lives in the most amazing house from the 1930's which is placed in the countryside. Complete with orginal features such as orginal doors and door knobs, the house is a throw back to a more glamtime! I adore it and secretly wished that one day I get to live in a similar house!

5pm - Colouring in time!
I was in my element when my friends little girl Ruby brought out her art box!

6pm - Home time and catch up with some dishes while I tried to nurse my sore throat!

7pm - 10pm
Throat too sore to head out to meet with work friends
so decide a night in front of the TV with a move is more apt!

Hope you all had a lovely, relaxing Saturday! I'm looking forward to next Saturday, I'll be in London to taste some delights in Jamie Olivers restaurant!

Weekend Plans

While it may only be Tuesday, I'm already drooling about weekend possibilities. A load of new stock arrived at my door this morning - It felt like an age since I've ordered anything online so I literally could not wait for the nice post lady to arrive. Weekend plans include first and foremost, updating my Etsy shop, its been.....probably two months since I updated and put some work into it, so it's crying for some attention...and while we're at it, sales too!

The next step of action is working on my blog interface, I follow lots of cool, hip and crafty blogs and have recently noticed modern and nice improvements so it got me thinking about my own. Sometimes when you look at something long enough you get bored with it and it's important to spice or jazz things up.....just so everyone stays interested. I'm a bit of a blogger novice so we'll see how that goes...bear with me as changes and experiments get underway!

And then there is C-C-Christmas! I saw my first selection box in the supermarket last night and nearly had a heart attack! I have oodles of Christmas stock purchased from my NYC trip last December (my heart aches for another trip!) and it's about time I got it out from under my desk and jumped straight back into all things red and green! I'll be sure to start listing these items once ready...and to get us in the spirit....Ho,Ho,Ho!!......Too early? yea I thought so!

Today I heart...

.....technology and the wonderful invention that is the iPhone 4 (Yes I know the iPhone 5 is on the way and soon my phone won't be as cool!) and the even more wonderful App that is Instagram!

Be still my beating heart, I have been longing for the Instagram App since I discovered it via blogs. I searched for it in vain when I had my lovely little android only to discover it's only available on the iPhone! "Oh no!" I thought as I muddled my way through similar android equivalents! Never quite achieving the same interesting, beautiful shots those with Instagram captured!

Then....one day.....the nice lady from O2 (my phone company) called me...."Rebecca, would you like to upgrade to an iPhone 4...(and now the best bit...)... for free?? "Why yes, nice phone lady I would!" and so began the love affair that was Instagram and Rebecca. After 25 photos, I'm addicted.....every moment is a possible Instagram photo opportunity. Why don't you follow me here? We can become addicted together!
